Description
The Clamex S-18 is a detachable connector for the Lamello system, designed for sleek and nearly invisible joints. It is secured in an 8 mm wide groove and tightened or released via a lever, similar to a cam fitting, through a discreet 6 mm access hole. This design ensures exceptional aesthetics while enabling joints that are almost completely concealed. The Clamex S-18 requires no glue, supports connections at all angles, and is suitable for both fixed and detachable joints.
To install, the connector uses an 8 mm groove milled to a depth of 15 mm, which can be created in one step with the 8 mm Clamex groove cutter or in two steps using the standard 4 mm cutter with a 4 mm offset spacer. For angled connections between 22.5? and 180?, a drill jig is used to create precise access holes. The connector is then inserted into the workpieces and fastened with two standard screws, allowing the pieces to be connected with a hex key. This eliminates glue drying times, enabling immediate processing or shipping of assembled workpieces.
