Adze Sweep Profile

From the Mueller forge in Austria, these nicely-sized gutter adzes provide a choice of three cutting profiles to meet your stock removal needs. Use the shallower sweep for tasks like dressing a hand-hewed appearance onto construction lumber and the deeper sweeps for taking bigger bites for wooden gutter making.

These adzes have an in-cannel cutting edge (bevel on the inside of the curve). Because you cannot ride the bevel with this edge configuration, they would not be suitable for bowl carving or scooping a seat bottom – where you would be better with an adze having an out-cannel cutting edge (that lets you ride the bevel, having more control as you cut).

The 17-1/2″ overall length lets you use these with a double-fist grip or you can choke up slightly to easily use them one-handed.From the back of the pol to the cutting edge measures 7-1/2″. Hickory Handle. Includes leather sheath.
