220 to 800 grits are made from 3Ms 213Q Aluminum Oxide abrasive papergraded in the FEPA grit scale.This tough, friable abrasive is great for sanding bare wood in preparation for applying finish.The abrasive grit will stay sharp throughout its life and cut effectively, with minimal clogging.

1000 to 2500 grits are made from 3Ms 401Q Silicon Carbide abrasive papergraded in the ANSI/CAMI grit scale.This hard, sharp abrasive is great for sanding finishes between coats and during polishing the final finish.In addition, this paper is great for achieving a really fine edge when sharpening with sandpaper and for sanding and polishing metal during rust removal when reconditioning your tools and cast iron machine surfaces.
