Description

The D Series Single-Tower Desiccant Air Dryer is expertly engineered for point-of-use applications, providing efficient and reliable moisture removal. The wet compressed air enters through the inlet, where centrifugal separation traps water droplets. The air then passes through a polypropylene coalescer element, felt pads, and stainless-steel grids to remove solid particulates. As the air flows upward, it moves through a sewed filtration desiccant bag that acts like a sponge, absorbing moisture. Finally, the air flows through the second filtration stage to eliminate any desiccant dust. This advanced 3-stage system offers effective separation, filtration, and drying. The rust-free powder-coated aluminum housing is made in Canada and includes built-in brackets for easy installation. The cartridge should be replaced when the Moisture Gauge indicates saturation. CRN Registered.

FAQ

  1. How long does the cartridge last?
Typically, we recommend changing the cartridge at least once or twice a year (or every 2,000 hours) for point-of-use applications with intermittent flow.
  2. When do I know when to change the cartridge?
Use our moisture indicator HGT-1/4 and replace the cartridge when the relative humidity exceeds 80%.
  3. Can I regenerate the desiccant?
For optimal performance, we recommend replacing the desiccant with a fresh cartridge. However, you may dry the desiccant by emptying the bag and heating the activated alumina in an oven at 275°F for approximately 4 hours. Let the desiccant cool before refilling the bag and use a commercial stapler to close the bag.
  4. How can I extend the life of the cartridge?
We recommend draining the tower daily by opening the ball valve or using our automatic timer drain TD-1/4. When there are bulk liquids in the compressed air, installing a water separator FSD Series upstream of the dryer will help prevent cartridge flooding.
  5. Can I oversize my air dryer?
Yes, oversizing the air dryer will increase the time between maintenance intervals.
